How to Choose Network to Send Crypto?

Be very careful with choosing network when sending crypto. Wrong choice can transfer your crypto in the unknown direction, and there is a very small chance of getting it back.

Simple rule to remember: send coins only through their native network. For example:

  • Send BTC through Bitcoin network to Bitcoin address
  • Send ETH and any ERC20 tokens through Ethereum (ERC20) network to Ethereum address
  • Send BNB and any BEP20 tokens through Binance Smart Chain (BEP20) network to BSC address
  • Send TRX and any TRC20 tokens through Tron (TRC20) network to Tron address

Remember, most of coins exist on different networks. For example, USDT can be ERC20, BEP20 or TRC20 token. As ERC20 token, USDT circulates in Ethereum and Polygon PoS network. It means, that if you want to send or receive USDT to your Polygon address, you should select Polygon network. Accordingly, when your transfer USDT from/to your Ethereum address, select Ethereum network.

How to Define the Network of a Wallet Address to Send Crypto?

*Ethereum-based networks Polygon or BNB Chain are compatible with Ethereum. If someone gave you an address starting with 0x.. to send crypto, ask one to specify the network of this address: Ethereum, Polygon or BNB Chain. It is very important either to you and to receiver.
